The DClinPsy Course Comparison Guide is a 152-page guide and accompanying Matrix (via spreadsheet) comparing 30 of the 32 NHS-funded Clinical Psychology Doctorate courses in the UK*.
The guide contains information (correct as of July 2025) about each of the courses to help you make an informed decision about which course may be best for you to apply to.
The guide contains:
- Reflection pages to allow you to reflect on what your values are to compare with the courses
- One place you can find all the information about each of the courses
- Insight from current trainees on each of the courses (that might be slightly less censored than in the Alternative Handbook!)
The accompanying Matrix spreadsheet is fully customisable and you can add to it to make it personal to you. You can filter by course, psychotherapeutic models, ethos & values, shortlisting tests, disability confident scheme, contextual admissions, etc. This is designed to help you strategically apply to whichever courses you may be most likely to be offered an interview on.

FREE COPIES
We offer free copies of our other resources but as this one has taken considerable work and contains all information that is freely available online, therefore we are unable to provide free copies of either the Guide or the Matrix Spreadsheet. Additionally, supporting the platform allows me to continue to offer free application reviews, mentoring and mock interviews, so I really appreciate your support.
*PLEASE NOTE:
- This does not include the Hull or Queen's Belfast courses.
- This guide does not provide information about self-funded places. A separate Guide and Matrix will be available from July/August 2025.
